Merry Gentry is a book character from the Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's a very popular supernatural book series. Merry is a faerie princess of the faerie courts, known for her faerie red hair and green tri-colored eyes. She's half sidhe and half halfling. The books revolve around the adventures of Merry who starts off by posing as a human detective at Grey's detective agency, in Los Angeles, California, until she is summoned by the High Faerie courts by her Aunt, Queen Andais. Merry was hiding in California because she was having trouble at the faerie courts and some faeries were plotting her demise. But she answered the summon because her aunt had a proposition for her. Queen Andais decreed that either Merry, her niece, or Cel, her son would take over the throne of the dark faerie court depending on which one produced an heir first. So the series mostly revolves around Merry trying to produce an heir as she races against her cousin Cel. At the same time there is a struggle between the Dark faerie court and Light Faerie court and Merry is in the middle of all the intrigue. There is also sabotage afoot, as people vie for the throne and the heir, even plotting Merry's death. Merry is given a bevy of beautiful, armed escorts from Queen Andais' personal guards, the Ravens, to help her produce the heir. The series is sexually erotic and contains explicit adult concepts. Not recommended for those under 18.
